What is Center Stage?
          Center Stage is Jacksonville State University’s indoor color guard.  The guard is composed of students of Jacksonville State University,   The guard is a member of the Southern Association for Performance Arts and will be competing in the Independent WORLD class.
 
How much are membership Fees?
Below is an itemized list of fees and what these fees will be used for throughout the winter guard season.
Membership fees/member           $900.00
Total Cost Per Person   $900.00
Audition Fee
A Non refundable audition fee of $40 dollars will be required before candidates are permitted to audition.  This fee will be absorbed into the budget and will assist in paying judges and entrance fees into the Southeastern color guard circuit.  Checks should be made out to Center Stage
 
Where and when will Center Stage rehearse?
Center stage will hold its rehearsals in Mason Hall and Stevenson Gymnasium on the campus of Jacksonville State University. Rehearsals will take place on Friday nights from 6p.m. until Midnight., Saturdays from 8:00a.m.-10:00p.m., and on Sundays from 9:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. During the Fall Semester, Center stage will hold most of its rehearsals on Sunday.  Times for these rehearsals will be announced at a later date.
 
What will I have to do for Auditions?
            Auditions for Center Stage will be very in-depth and thorough.  Candidates will be required to demonstrate a variety of fundamentals skills, which will be divided into four categories:  Flag, Rifle, Sabre, and Movement Fundamentals. These fundamentals will be combined with one another so it is important that candidates have a wide knowledge base of each discipline. Everyone will audition on Flag and Movement Fundamentals. 
 
What Do I need to bring?
            In addition to the $40 audition fee, you will need to bring clothes that are conducive to movement as well as equipment (6'pole, flag, 39"rifle or sabre).
If I am a college student at JSU, will I get credit for participating in Center Stage?
            Yes!!!  Everyone enrolled at JSU who wishes to receive 1 college credit hour for Center Stage must register for the class.  A call number and course number will be given out at a later date.  As with all other classes at JSU, You must pay for the class in order to receive credit (this will be separate from your membership fees unless you are a full time student at JSU.  Also, the attendance policy will be strictly adhered to.  High School Students will not be allowed to participate in Center Stage this season.
 
Where will Center Stage Compete?
            As a member of the Southern Association for performance Arts, Center Stage is required to compete in at least four circuit shows in order to qualify for SAPA championships.  In addition to these four shows, Center Stage will be competing in two to four major regionals and Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.  More regional information will be released at a later date.
